Navratri beauty prep
for nine nights of Garba

Navratri 2026 runs from Sunday 11 to Monday 19 October, with Dussehra on Tuesday 20 October. Here is how to get Garba-ready and stay fresh through nine nights of dancing.

Nine nights of Garba mean heat, sweat and long hours on your feet. A little planning before the first night, and a simple routine after each one, keeps your skin, hair and feet happy until Dussehra.

Before the first night (by 10 October)

  • Waxing. Arms, underarms and back are on show in most chaniya cholis. Wax one or two days before the first night so any redness settles. Our waxing guide covers prep and aftercare.
  • Threading. Eyebrows, upper lip and forehead one or two days before.
  • Clean-up. A clean-up two to three days before the first night leaves skin fresh before nine nights of makeup.
  • Pedicure. Garba is hard on your feet. A pedicure beforehand softens heels and tidies nails, whether you dance in mojdis or barefoot.

Our Garba Ready package bundles the essentials in one home visit. See what is included and the live price on the homepage.

After every night of Garba

  • Remove makeup fully and cleanse before you sleep. Sweat and makeup left on overnight can clog pores.
  • Use a light, non-greasy moisturiser.
  • Wash your feet, moisturise your heels and give them a rest.
  • Dry a sweaty scalp properly before tying your hair, and tie it loosely.
  • Keep drinking water between rounds.

Mid-Navratri refresh (around 15 October)

  • Threading touch-up for brows and upper lip, so you look neat for the last five nights.
  • A head or back massage to relax tired shoulders after days of dancing.

After Dussehra

Give your skin a few quiet days, then start planning for Diwali on 8 November. Our Diwali beauty prep checklist shows what to book and when.
